Andy is President of Dougherty Real Estate Equity Advisors, a full-service real estate investment platform. Andy has over 25 years of senior level experience in the commercial real estate industry. He started his career in 1988 with the Heitman organization, one of the nation’s largest real estate advisors, where he held several leadership positions, including President of Heitman Properties Ltd and Heitman Advisory Corp. His experience included raising investor equity, structuring investment vehicles, acquiring, financing and managing commercial properties throughout the United States.
Andy joined Opus Properties in 1997 as President and, over the next 17 years, created and managed a real estate investment platform that included eleven commingled funds and numerous joint ventures, involving almost 200 properties, and together totaling over $4 billion in acquisition value. During his tenure, seven of these funds were disposed completing their life cycle, with superior realized returns.
Andy is an active member of NAIOP, Pension Real Estate Association and Urban Land Institute (ULI). He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University.
As Executive Vice President of Dougherty Real Estate Equity Advisors, Lori leads the acquisition and finance efforts of the firm. Lori has over 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, most notably in executive level positions with Opus Properties and Opus Northwest, LLC, CB Richard Ellis, and her consulting firm, Keystone Advisors, LLC. While at Opus Properties, Lori worked together with Andy to form their first co-investing funds and to identify and execute investment opportunities for those funds.
Lori’s experience spans the width of the commercial real estate spectrum, including acquisition, disposition, finance, joint venture structuring, asset management, and development. Her knowledge of these areas is based on well over $4.0 billion worth of real estate transactions completed in more than 25 markets across the country.
Lori has been a member of and participated in industry-leading organizations including ULI, NAIOP, and ICSC. She was elected as the first female President of NAIOP-MN in its history, leading its 800+ members, and was recognized with CBRE’s prestigious Chairman’s Club Award, Millenium Club, and Teamwork Awards. Her charitable endeavors include serving on the Board of Directors of various Twin Cities non-profit organizations, including CornerHouse, Bridging, Inc., and Special Olympics MN.
As Vice President of Dougherty Real Estate Equity Advisors, Tom is responsible for the asset management department of the firm including investor relations, budgeting, reporting and on-going management of the assets. Tom has over 20 years of experience in both property and asset management along with extensive experience with acquisition and disposition of a variety of asset types throughout the United States. He devised and executed the strategic repositioning of several large assets during his career. His past includes working for Andy Deckas at Opus Properties as a Senior Asset Manager.
Tom’s most recent experience was with Wildamere Capital Management (formerly known as Welsh Invest), where he led the asset management department. Tom oversaw investments with joint venture partnerships, tenant-in-common structures and private real estate funds with assets of over 6,000,000 square feet and a value of over $1.0 billion.
Tom is an active member of NAIOP and BOMA and is a Certified Property Manager with the Institute of Real Estate Management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Mankato State University and earned his Masters of Science in Management from Boston University.
Scott is the Vice President of Dougherty Real Estate Equity Advisors. Scott is responsible for sourcing potential acquisitions for the firm as well as engineering financing solutions for the firm’s investments. He started his career in Chicago in 2011 with CBRE, the world’s largest real estate service provider, and since that time has been involved in over $1 billion in transaction volume. Within CBRE, Scott worked with the Financial Consulting Group where he advised sellers, buyers, and users on property-level financial issues and identified areas for value creation while providing an excellent understanding of the capital markets and industry underwriting techniques to benefit clients. Scott also worked with the Debt & Structured Finance group which allowed him to specialize in debt and equity placement for commercial and multi-family property primarily in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area as well as throughout the United States.
Scott is currently an active member of the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA) and NAIOP. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate & Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
David is a Board Director of Dougherty Real Estate Equity Advisors LLC and is President of affiliate companies Dougherty Funding LLC and Dougherty Mortgage LLC.
Prior to joining Dougherty in 2002, David served as Senior Vice President of the regional investment banking firm of Miller Johnson Steichen & Kinnard for over 13 years. His experience in real estate is extensive, having supervised the acquisition, development or financing of several hundred transactions totaling over $3 billion of value.
David is a director of Bridgewater Bank and several non-profit organizations, as well as the various Dougherty companies. He is also a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and other trade organizations. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Finance from the University of St. Thomas.
Murray is Executive Vice President of Dougherty Funding LLC. Headquartered in Minneapolis, he is responsible for production of new debt and structured finance placements for the company. Mr. Kornberg has been involved in closing in excess of $3.0 billion of commercial real estate loans in his real estate finance career.
Murray has been employed in the commercial real estate business for over 30 years, including time as president of his own real estate development company and ten years as vice president of CSM Corporation where he negotiated and closed more than 125 loans. In 2003, Murray joined CBRE Capital Markets and was among the top 200 out of 3,000 incentive compensated professionals in the Americas. Murray’s experience includes financing structures in many real estate asset classes including office, industrial, retail, multi-family, hospitality, senior housing and student housing.
Murray is actively involved in the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and Minnesota Mortgage Bankers Association as well as being a current member and past President of NAIOP. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario and earned his Master of Professional Studies in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from Cornell University.
